Carla Berry has joined the board of directors for Lifeline Recovery Center, a residential treatment program for substance abuse.
Berry is a senior vice president of Paducah Bank, semi-retired after 45 years in the industry. She is a graduate of the Kentucky School of Banking and the University of Oklahoma Commercial Lending School.
She chairs the board of directors for The Continue Care Hospital LTACH at Baptist Health Paducah; and the economic development committee of Paducah Main Street, where she serves on the board. She is the past president of the Charity League of Paducah, the Dream Factory and the local chapters of the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association. She was a founder of the Paducah River City Business and Professional Women’s Club and named BPW Woman of the Year in 2000. She also has served on boards for the Paducah Convention Center, Riverfront Development Board and Paducah Art Guild.
“The Lifeline board will benefit from Carla’s financial expertise, economic development experience and health care knowledge,” said board chair Steve Powless, “as well as her passion for our mission of recovery for those battling addiction.”
Lifeline Recovery Center is a long-term residential recovery program for those dealing with drug and alcohol addictions, treating about 200 people each year at separate men’s and women’s campuses.
The Lifeline board includes other community volunteers: Dr. Jeffrey Taylor, treasurer; Sonia Osman, secretary; David Bailey; the Rev. Dr. Bernice Belt; Missy Eckenberg; Terry Haas; Robert L. Hill; Kenny Hunt; Bonnie Schrock; Todd Trimble and Mike Zimmerman; as well as executive director Ashley Miller.
